Over €2m investment secured for Bailieborough Community School – Smyth

Fianna Fáil TD for Cavan-Monaghan Niamh Smyth says additional accommodation has been approved by the Department of Education and Skills for Bailieborough Community School. The works will total over €2m for the school.

She commented, “I am delighted to receive confirmation from my Party colleague, Minister for Education and Skills Norma Foley TD, that Bailieborough Community School has been approved for additional accommodation. This will see an investment of over €2m into our local school.   

“I understand the school has been approved for 4 new general classrooms, 1 multi-media room and 1 Science Laboratory plus attached preparation area.  

“I want to commend Principal Martha Lievens, Deputy Principal Fergal Kenny, their staff, Board of Management on all their hard work to date, not only on this application but also the safe return to school for so many of their pupils and staff 

“I also want to thank Minister Foley and her Department Officials who I have been engaging with for a number of months to see this application succeed,” concluded Deputy Smyth.
