Fianna Fáil TD for Cavan-Monaghan Niamh Smyth says the investment in Virginia College will be welcomed by all involved in the project and provide much needed new facilities for students and their teachers.

She commented, “This project, when completed, will see the provision of nine additional classrooms, three new science labs, two SET rooms, two prep areas, and two classroom SEN bases.

“I want to extend my congratulations to Principal Niall Lynch and the Cavan Monaghan Education and Training Board who pursued the project.

“This Government are committed to seeing students return to their classrooms this September. We are also strongly committed to strengthening the education and school experience children receive. My Party colleague, Minister for Education and Skills Norma Foley TD has been to the fore in this regard since taking up her role.

“I look forward to working with the Minister and her Department, the local stakeholders and the school going body to see this extension completed promptly,” concluded Deputy Smyth.
