Fianna Fáil TD for North Tipperary, Ryan O'Meara, chaired a major Ard Fheis discussion last night alongside Minister for Children, Disability and Equality, Norma Foley, Minister of State for Special Education and Inclusion, Michael Moynihan, and Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, James Lawless, focused on education, disability, access and opportunity.

The discussion examined the importance of expanding opportunity through education, improving disability services and ensuring people can access the supports and pathways they need to reach their full potential.

Speaking following the event, Deputy O’Meara said:

“It was a privilege to chair tonight’s discussion alongside Ministers Norma Foley, Michael Moynihan and James Lawless and to hear directly from those working to improve access, inclusion and opportunity for people across our communities.

“Education has always been one of the greatest drivers of opportunity in Irish society and Fianna Fáil has a proud record of expanding access and opening doors for people and families across the country.

“Tonight’s discussion highlighted the importance of continuing to invest in education, disability services and the supports that allow people to participate fully in society and achieve their full potential.

“There has been significant progress in recent years through increased investment in special education, disability services, apprenticeships and further and higher education, but there is also a clear understanding that more work remains to be done.

“The focus must continue to be on creating real opportunity, supporting families and ensuring every person has the chance to succeed regardless of background or circumstance.”

The panel formed part of the wider Fianna Fáil Ard Fheis programme taking place this weekend.
