An Taoiseach and Uachtarán Fhianna Fáil, Micheál Martin TD is pleased to announce the appointment of the Party’s Directors of Elections for the upcoming by-elections.
Dara Calleary TD, Minister for Social Protection, Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht has been appointed Director of Elections for Galway West, and Minister Darragh O’Brien TD, Minister for Climate, Environment, Energy and Transport as Director of Elections for Dublin Central.
Commenting on these appointments, An Taoiseach, Micheál Martin TD said, “I am delighted to appoint Ministers Dara Calleary TD and Darragh O’Brien TD as Directors of Elections for the Galway West and Dublin Central by-elections, respectively. Both have very strong electoral track records along with significant experience in organising strong, vibrant and effective campaigns on behalf of Fianna Fáil. I know they will lead strong and active campaigns, working with the selected candidates and the organisation in each constituency, along with harnessing the experience and enthusiasm of the entire Fianna Fáil organisation.
“These by-elections will be important opportunities for our candidates, organisation and public representatives to engage with the electorate and to bring the strong Fianna Fáil message to voters and communities across Galway West and Dublin Central. I look forward to campaigning in both constituencies alongside my colleagues and the organisation from all over the country.”

The candidate selection process for both constituencies has commenced. Selection conventions will be held over the coming weeks.
