Economic supports will allow Kildare to begin recovery – Lawless

Published on: 14 August 2020

Economic supports announced by Government today will allow businesses in Kildare to begin their recovery from the financial difficulties faced by public health measures, according to local TD James Lawless.

Deputy Lawless said, “This week I have been engaging with Taoiseach and my Party Leader Micheál Martin TD, Minister for Public Expenditure Michael McGrath TD, the Tániaste and most importantly business owners and other stakeholders across Kildare.

“I pressed the need for tailored supports for Kildare given the restrictions imposed on the county due to the sudden spike in COVID-19 cases.

“Today, the economic package which includes dedicated funding for the Local Enterprise Office, marketing of the county as a tourism destination, and increased funding through the Restart Grant Plus Scheme will all go some way in helping our businesses recover.

“I want to thank my colleagues in Government for their proactive assistance in what has been a hard week for Kildare,” concluded Deputy Lawless.
