Niall is currently Minister of State at the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science with responsibility for Skills and Further Education.
Niall originally trained as an accountant having worked with Ernst & Young along with being a former lecturer at the Limerick Institute of Technology. Prior to his election to Dáil Éireann, Niall was deputy CEO of the Shannon Regional Fisheries Board.
He is married to Eimear and they have one son, Conor, and one daughter, Kealon. Niall has a keen and active playing interest in sports including GAA, Rugby and Golf. He is passionate about public service believing that community activism and collaboration are the core components to achieve a fairer society for all.
