Fianna Fáil Environment Spokesperson Niall Collins has asked Labour’s Joanna Tuffy if her attack on the Government’s electoral reform plans reflects the views of her party.
Deputy Collins said: “Deputy Tuffy has launched an outright attack on Environment Minister Phil Hogan’s plans to reduce TD numbers. In an interview with thejournal.ie today, she described the plans as “rubbish,” “populist,” and “Tea Party-type” stuff.
“These are extremely strong comments revealing a view that is in complete contradiction with Government policy. Deputy Tuffy must clarify if this view is shared by her Labour colleagues and whether Labour will be supporting the proposals.”
