Meet Éamon
Éamon was previously Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs (2002-2010) and Minister for Social Protection (2010-2011). He was Minister of State at the Department of Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands (1997-2001) and at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development (2001-2002)
Éamon was a member of Seanad Éireann from 1989 to 1992 and a member of Galway County Council from 1991 to 1997. He was a Fianna Fáil delegate on the Forum for Peace and Reconciliation (1994-1997) which was established following the Downing Street Declaration of 1993.
He was Deputy Leader of Fianna Fáil from 2011-2012
Bhí Éamon mar Aire Gnóthaí Pobail, Tuaithe agus Gaeltachta ó 2002-2010 agus mar Aire Coimirce Sóisialaí ó 2010-2011. Bhí sé mar Aire Stáit sa Roinn Ealaíon, Oidhreachta, Gaeltachta agus Oileán ó 1997-2001 agus san Roinn Talmhaíochta, Bia agus Forbartha Tuaithe ó 2001-2002.
Bhí sé mar Leas-Cheannaire ar Fhianna Fáil ó 2011-2012
Bhí sé mar bhall de Sheanad Éireann ó 1989 go dtí 1992 agus mar bhall de Chomhairle Chontae na Gaillimhe ó 1991-1997.
Bhí sé mar thoscaire ó Fhianna Fáil ar an b Fóram um Shíocháin agus Athmhuintearas (1994-1997) a bunaíodh tar éis Forógra Downing Street i 1993.
