Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin has expressed his concern at the developing situation at Healy’s Blue Bin company in Cork. Workers are staging a sit-in at the premises on the Skehard road after they were told the company was closing and they were losing their jobs.
“This is a very sad day for all involved in the company. Healy’s has been a long established family business in the city. It has been a household name for almost 40 years, and many of the workers have given decades of good service.
“I hope the ongoing situation between the workers and management can be resolved in a fair and just way. All the agencies of the State need to be brought in to assist the workers in securing their entitlements and in seeking alternative employment”.
