Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Arts, Culture and Heritage, Niamh Smyth, has expressed her sincere condolences on the passing of RTÉ broadcast legend Larry Gogan.
“I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to Larry’s family and many friends at this sad time,” Deputy Smyth said.
“With almost six decades of broadcasting under his belt Larry Gogan’s dedication and experience was unrivalled.
“He was a strong supporter of Irish music throughout this time and there are many homegrown Irish artists who will mourn his death with great sadness.
“His listeners tuned in in their hundreds of thousands to hear his distinguished voice and they were never disappointed.
“My thoughts are with his family, his colleagues at RTÉ and his wide circle of friends at this sad time
“Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.”
