I come from a family with a strong tradition in community activity and volunteer work. My parents, Paddy and Sarah, were involved in many community groups, most notably the GAA and Community Games. My uncle, Fr. Ulic Troy, is a former chairman of a Westmeath County Board.
I went to Emper National School and then on to St.
Finian’s College before going to work in Dublin. Having worked in Dublin for 5 years I returned to take over as postmaster in Ballynacargy.
Since my election we have seen many improvements in our area and I am delighted to have worked with so many voluntary organisations to achieve this. I have also worked for individuals in confidence regarding personal matters, always respecting the integrity of peoples concerns and ensuring the best possible outcome.
