Jackie Cahill was first elected to Dáil Eireann in 2016 after severing as a councillor for many years. Jackie, a Thurles native, has worked in the Agri Food sector for many years. He is passionate about agriculture and served as both President and Vice President of the ICMSA. He represented the Agri Food sector at home and abroad with Bord Bia, Ornua, formerly the Irish Dairy Board, The European Dairy Board, The National Dairy Council and The Irish Animal Welfare Council.
Housing, Health and Education opportunities are issues that Jackie feels have an enormous impact on the quality of people’s lives and sadly in these three areas there is need for huge improvement.
He believes that with dynamic and fresh policies, focusing on supporting the communities of rural Ireland we can reenergise and attract further investment to rural Ireland. Jackie believes that people should have the choice of living and working in their own communities. This is simply not the case at present and something that Jackie is committed to tackling.
Jackie wants to help create a society that is fair, that displays a clear social conscience and where enterprise is rewarded.
