A proud Lucan resident of over 27 years, Caitríona is an accomplished teacher, economist, community activist, mother, and grandmother.
Her strong ties with the community stem from years of active volunteering for numerous community organisations, these include the best part of a decade on the Lucan Festival committee; an elected member of the SDCC Public Participation Network Secretariat; and a church volunteer and long-standing member of the women’s ecumenical team, in St. Mary’s Parish in Lucan.
Caitríona has campaigned widely on various issues both locally and nationally. She has a proven track record of success on transport/traffic solutions with South Dublin County Council. Through a highly endorsed door-to-door petition (100% lent their support when asked) she highlighted the urgent need to reduce the costs of prescriptions for the most vulnerable in our communities.
This contributed to the national reduction of the prescription charge for pensioners.
