Pat the Cope Gallagher has welcomed the news that Randox Teo plans to expand their operation in Dungloe, having bought over the plant they have been leasing there since 2008.
The Fianna Fáil MEP said: “This move is a vote of confidence in Dungloe and evidence of the firm’s commitment to the area. Randox Teo plans to expand their manufacturing and research & development operations, thus creating further job opportunities.
“Randox Teo is a world leader in the revolutionary area of diagnostics biochips which are used in over 145 countries. These biochips allow clinicians and researchers to screen for multiple conditions in a single patient blood sample.
“Great credit is due to Údarás na Gaeltachta for their strategic work in securing such a high quality project. The creation of further jobs at the plant will bring significant economic and social benefits to Dungloe, the Rosses and West Donegal. I would like to wish Dr Peter Fitzgerald, the founder and Managing Director of Randox, and his team continued success,” concluded MEP Gallagher.
Pat the Cope has been working closely with Randox Teo since his time as Minister for Health Promotion. This announcement was also welcomed by Cllr David Alcorn, member of Údarás na Gaeltachta.
