Fianna Fáil Senator Jennifer Murnane O’Connor has received confirmation that the dilapidated railings at Carlow Court House are set to be restored.

Senator Murnane O’Connor made the comments after raising the issue with the Minister for Justice Charlie Flanagan and the Courts Service.

“People in Carlow will be well aware of the poor condition that the railings outside the Court House are currently in. They are an eyesore and are badly in need of repair. It’s disappointing that they have been allowed fall into such disrepair when you consider the efforts being made by volunteers on the Tidy Towns Committee to keep the community clean.

“Fortunately the Courts Service has confirmed to me that they are set to undertake a tender shortly to restore the railings. This will involve specialist conversation and some experimental repairs have already been undertaken. I will continue to monitor this project to ensure there are no unnecessary delays,” concluded Senator Murnane O’Connor.
