Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Health, Billy Kelleher has said that any legal action by those opposing the location of the National Children’s Hospital at the St. James’ Hospital site should be fast-tracked to ensure that no further delays are allowed to slow the delivery of this vitally important piece of health infrastructure.
“I would hope that this case can be dealt with as quickly and efficiently as possible to ensure that we have the hospital up and running as quickly as possible.
“A 12 week window where a judicial review can be lodged has now begun.
“The sick children of Ireland have been waiting for this hospital for far too long. We are one of the few developed countries in the world without a dedicated, custom built national paediatric hospital.
“Construction must begin as quickly as possible. Any further delays will not be tolerated, and will not be understood by future generations,” concluded Kelleher.
