1985: First ran for election for Muine Bheag Town Council, resulting in my election with the second highest vote for Fianna Fail, winning a seat.
1991: I contested the Carlow County Council elections. I received the third highest vote, 1st for Fianna Fail, resulting in my election to represent Muine Bheag at both county and town council level.
1999: I contested the Town Council and Carlow County Council elections. I was successful in both local authorities, receiving an extremely high vote and am currently the Chairman of the muine Bheag Town Council.
