Anne is married to Pat and has 3 children, Pauric, Kate & Roisin. Anne is a teacher of French and History in St. Mary’s Academy C.B.S., Carlow where she is also the Coordinator and Year Head of the Transition Year Programme. Anne has been a life long member of Fianna Fail, joining Ogra at the age of 14. A member of the Eamonn de Valera Cumann, Askea, Carlow, Anne has served as Cumann secretary and secretary to the Comhairle Ceanntair. Anne is a sports enthusiast and is an executive member of O’Hanrahan’s GAA club in Carlow Town, a member Setanta, Ireland’s newest Hurling & Camogie club and a member of Club Carlow the supporters club for Carlow GAA. Involved in the very successful and worthwhile Charity Bainisteoir Competition organised by Coiste na nOg , Anne worked with Tinryland GAA club who won the competition in it’s first year and with Palatine GAA club the following year to raise much needed funds for local charities.

Elected to Carlow Town Council in 2004 & elected to Carlow County & Town Councils in 2009. Re-elected to Carlow County Council in 2014.
Anne is a member of the Housing SPC of Carlow County Council and a member of the Council’s Public Arts Working Group. Anne was recently appointed to the board of Éigse the long standing Arts Festival Group and is a member of the Education committee of “Visual”, Carlow’s award winning Centre for Contemporary Arts and the George Bernard Shaw Theatre.
Anne is Chairperson of the Friends of the Sacred Heart Hospital, Carlow and has been a member of the group since its inception serving as Treasurer and Secretary over the years.
A member of the Parent’s Council in St. Leo’s College, a member of County Carlow V.E.C. and former Chairperson of the Parent’s Council Scoil Mhuire gan Smal and former member of the Board of Management in St. Joseph’s boys school.
A member of the very successful Carlow Tidy Towns committee, Anne works hard to forge and sustain strong links between the committee and schools in the town.
Anne has a track record as a committed and hard working Councillor who represents all members of the community. The provision of quality care for the Elderly, support for the expansion of Carlow I.T and Carlow College and the recognition and promotion of Carlow as a Tourist spot are among her many priorities.
Anne is a member of the twinning committee that organises a very successful student exchange programme and civic links between Carlow and our twin town of Dole in eastern France. The promotion of these links is yet another way of encouraging tourists to visit Carlow and by extension to boost the local economy.
Anne has strong links with the Carlow Associations abroad and considers it essential that the Local Authority would continue to support these associations in every way possible.
