CE and Tús Schemes are central to many communities the length and breadth of the country. Not only do they provide employment in local communities but they also allow people who cannot access jobs in mainstream employment to work. The current Government has focused on the activation aspect of these schemes alone, which has been to the detriment of participants and also local communities.
Fianna Fáil will rebalance the focus of these schemes so that they once again have a dual role; social inclusion and activation.
Protect the future of both of these schemes.
Ensure that Social Inclusion and Job Activation are given equal importance and recognise the important contribution they make to local communities.
Revise the eligibility criteria for these schemes, particularly taking into account the needs of older participants.
Set out a roadmap to address pension rights for CE supervisors and assistant supervisors.
A Basic Income Commission will look at the feasibility of introducing a basic income system in Ireland.
Reform the social welfare system to address poverty and unemployment traps.
Rebalance CE & Tús Schemes and recognise their social inclusion as well as activation functions.
Support disability inclusion and increase supports for people with disabilities.
Increase the state pension and implement an auto-enrolment pension system.
By joining Fianna Fáil, you too can play a major role in the future of our Party and our country.
