My name is Seána Brady. I am 25 years old and from Mullahoran in County Cavan. I am a primary school teacher in Dublin’s North East Inner City and I’m currently studying a Masters of Education in Poverty and Social Inclusion in DCU.
Equality Officer is a newly reinstated role to the Central Officer Board. I hope to shape this role over the coming term through the views of the membership.
My priority for the coming year will be running awareness campaigns on issues such as Direct Provision and blood donation criteria for LGBTQ+ men. I will facilitate Irish Sign Language classes for members. I will also host events with guest speakers to educate the membership on equality issues. The role of Equality Officer is a vast one, ranging from disability rights awareness to socio-economic inclusion.
Fianna Fáil are the Republican Party. If you strip back Republicanism and what it means, one of the core values is equality – ‘An Ireland For All’ is what we envision in Ógra.
