Rory Guerin - Leinster Organiser

My name is Rory Guerin and I am an Economics, Politics and Law student in DCU and I’m the Leinster Organiser of Ógra Fianna Fáil. I was born and raised in a small village called Palatine just outside of Carlow Town. I am currently the PRO of Carlow Ógra as well as the Chairperson of the Padraig Pearse Cumann in DCU. I joined Ógra in February 2019, just prior to the local elections. The reason I joined Ógra Fianna Fáil was because I wanted to be a part of a progressive, republican, youth movement that fought for the young people of our island.

I ran for Leinster Organiser of Ógra because I wanted to continue to work on the great progress that has been made in our region in the last year. I want to work with members to achieve a strong Leinster region and a vibrant Ógra Fianna Fáil as we slowly transition out of lockdown and a return to normality. My main plans for the year will be the work with members to meet on a regular basis, get on the ground in the local town and villages of the region and to help new members integrate smoothly into our great organization.

I believe that Ógra has a massive opportunity now to seize on the fact that Fianna Fáil are the leading government party and we have to use this to our full advantage. Throughout the course of my term, I will be working with members to promote our policies in the senior party on both a local and national level. I will also be working with Fianna Fáil elected reps, particularly Ógra councillors to promote policies and campaigns on issues that affect the young people of Leinster.
