Joseph Mullaney - Equality & Educational Officer

My name is Joseph Mullaney, and I’m proud to serve as the Equality and Educational Officer of Ógra Fianna Fáil. I’m from County Roscommon, and I’m a qualified post-primary Engineering and DCG teacher. I have been active in Roscommon Ógra and during my time at the University of Limerick.

Having experienced the education system with a learning difficulty, I understand the challenges many young people face. I’m passionate about ensuring that our education system is inclusive, accessible, representative, and that equality remains at the core of Ógra.

As Education and Equality Officer, I am committed to:

  • Advocating for students at both second and third level to ensure their voices are heard.
  • Promoting stronger supports for students with learning difficulties.
  • Collaborating with the Ógra Irish Language Officer to support Gaelscoileanna and Irish-medium education.
  • Working with Fianna Fáil’s equality networks to improve accessibility, representation, and inclusion.
  • Supporting educators and students by contributing to national education policy and initiatives.

My goal is to help make Ógra a space where every young person feels included, supported, and empowered to make a difference.

If you’re passionate about equality or education and want to get involved, I’d love to hear from you.
