My name is John Crowley and I’m from Ardfert, Co. Kerry. I completed both my undergraduate and master’s degrees at Trinity College Dublin and I am currently undertaking a PhD at University College Dublin’s School of Veterinary Medicine, where my research focuses on infection biology and veterinary parasitology.
I’ve always had a keen interest in politics, which led me to join Ógra during my first year at Trinity College Dublin in 2017 when I signed up with the Wolfe Tone Cumann during Freshers' Week. Over the years, I have served in a variety of roles at both Cumann and national level, including two terms as Cathaoirleach of the Wolfe Tone Cumann and as National Council Secretary since 2023. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of our organisation and the importance of strong structures, clear communication and active grassroots engagement.
It is a privilege to now serve as Uachtarán Ógra Fhianna Fáil. My focus is on building a confident, ambitious and forward-looking organisation; one that leads on policy, drives meaningful activism and ensures that young members have a real and lasting influence within our party. I am committed to strengthening participation across the country and positioning Ógra as a powerful voice shaping our future.
