Jamie Long - Membership & Recruitment Director

Jamie Long is ainm dom agus is mise an Oifigeach Ballraíochta agus Earcaíochta Ógra Fianna Fáil. I am currently a final year student in University College Dublin, studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE). In addition I am employed as a parliamentary assistant to Minister for European Affairs Thomas Byrne TD and I am an iar-Chathaoirleach of the UCD Kevin Barry Cumann.

Membership & Recruitment represents the cornerstone of this organisation. Fianna Fáil - as a broad church - champions values which run the gamut of the political spectrum. Since assuming this position, my priority has been to advocate on behalf of, and represent this intrinsic diversity and plurality; by speaking with our members, North and South, and allowing their perspectives to inform how the management of membership and recruitment should be conducted. By cultivating a progressive, inclusive organisation which actively empowers those involved, prospective members will recognise Ógra Fianna Fáil as a vehicle which can enable them to affect real change.

Finally, in view of my tenure as Membership & Recruitment Officer, I’m looking forward to further engaging with members across this organisation, taking urgent action to address the challenges facing Ógra Fianna Fáil, and introducing initiatives which will further expand and develop our National Movement.
