My name is Ciarán Mac Dermott, and I was elected at the last National Youth Conference as the Membership and Recruitment Director of Ógra. I am from Rathcoole Co. Dublin, and I am currently studying a Master of Education in UCD.
I have been a member of both Ógra and Fianna Fáil since 2021, and I have previously served as Cathaoirleach of the Kevin Barry Cumann in UCD and as Dublin Regional Organiser. I am currently serving as Cathaoirleach of Dublin Mid-West Ógra as well as Secretary of Dublin Mid-West Fianna Fáil.
As Membership and Recruitment Director, I am responsible for membership growth and retention through recruitment initiatives at Freshers’ and Refreshers’ events on college campuses, as well as at Agricultural Shows and other public engagements where Fianna Fáil is represented. Furthermore, I help the Regional Organisers to establish new Ógra units throughout the country. Finally, I represent members both on the Central Officer Board and on the Ard Chomhairle.
