Fianna Fáil TD for Limerick City, Willie O’Dea TD, has welcomed the announcement that up to 400 jobs will be created in Limerick.
US financial services company, Northern Trust, which is based in the National Technology Park will create up to 400 jobs over the next five years.
Deputy O’Dea commented: “I welcome the announcement that Northern Trust will create as many as 400 jobs in Limerick. The company already employs 900 people in Ireland, with a third of these based at Hamilton House.
“This is a much needed jobs boost for Limerick, which has suffered hugely in the recession. Northern Trust has been a loyal employer in Ireland since they located here in 1989. The facility in Hamilton House was opened in 2006 at the National Technology Park during the term of the last Government.
“This will be a great opportunity for graduates in the University of Limerick and Limerick Institute of Technology. With roles ranging from hedge fund accounting to IT, the high quality of graduates from the third level institutions will be ideal candidates for the jobs in Northern Trust.”
