Untimely passing of Liam Miller is a loss to Irish football – O’Keeffe

Published on: 10 February 2018

Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Sport, Kevin O’Keeffe has said that the sad passing of former Irish International, Liam Miller is a major loss to Irish sport.

“I want to extend my condolences to Liam’s wife Clare, his two sons, Kory and Leo and his daughter, Belle.

“This is a very difficult and sad time for such a young family, but they can be consoled, I believe, by the fact that the man who they called husband and father was respected and adored by Irish soccer fans up and down the country.

“His commitment to his various clubs throughout his career and, of course, to his country was well known.

“Playing for such iconic clubs such as Celtic FC, Manchester United and, of course, his home city’s club, Cork City gained Liam many fans at home and abroad.

“His untimely passing is a loss to Irish football. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam dhílis.”
