Fianna Fáil Senator & Deputy Leader of Seanad Éireann, Lisa Chambers has welcomed the appointment of Fianna Fáil Senators to their portfolios by An Taoiseach Micheál Martin.

An Taoiseach Micheál Martin said: “I would like to wish all of the Fianna Fáil Seanad Spokespeople well in their new portfolios. This team brings with it great experience and energy and I know that every one of them will play an important role in the Seanad over the coming years.

“The integral work of the Seanad will be strengthened by the quality and passion of this Fianna Fáil team. I am confident that they will engage constructively with other parties and Independents to progress important legislation which will improve the lives of people across this country”.

Senator Chambers said: “There is a very strong Fianna Fáil team in Seanad Éireann and our range of spokespersons reflect the wealth and depth of talent in our team. As Fianna Fáil group leader I look forward to working with all our Senators for the term ahead.

“Our priority will be first and foremost to rebuild and renew of our country post Covid-19 and to help our citizens and businesses get back on their feet. Over the coming weeks we will debate and pass important Covid-19 related legislation to help our country.

“We will be working closely with An Taoiseach, Micheál Martin; our government Ministers and TDs in Dáil Éireann to deliver for the people of Ireland,” concluded Senator Chambers.
