O’Donovan brothers success lifts nation – O’Keeffe

Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Sport Kevin O’Keeffe has paid tribute to the tremendous success of Paul and Gary O’Donovan at the Olympic Games.

Deputy O’Keeffe was speaking after the Skibbereen brothers won a historic silver medal.

“This is a tremendous success for Team Ireland and I want to send my congratulations to the O’Donovan brothers. Their achievement in securing a silver medal is a testament to their hard work and dedication down through the years. It has been an amazing week for Rowing Ireland, whose athletes are acting as superb role models for young people all over the country,” said Deputy O’Keeffe.

“The whole of Ireland is behind our athletes in Rio and hopefully we will have many more successes between now and the end of the games,” concluded Deputy O’Keeffe.
