Murphy selected to contest General Election in Roscommon-Galway

Fianna Fáil members in the Roscommon-Galway constituency have tonight selected Cllr. Eugene Murphy to contest the forthcoming General Election. More than 350 delegates voted during the selection convention.

Cllr. Murphy was first elected to Roscommon County Council in 1985 and has been an active member of the party and the council. He currently chairs the R.A.P.P. Group in Co. Roscommon as well as being involved in a number of other voluntary organisations.

The convention was held at the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon and was chaired by Fianna Fáil Spokesperson for Environment & Local Government Barry Cowen TD.
