Byrne welcomes Element Power Oral Hearing as chance for residents to have their say

Published on: 16 June 2015

Senator Thomas Byrne has stated that he welcomes the Element Power Oral Hearing being held in Kells today as a chance for the communities and residents of North Meath to have their say on the proposal.

“I will be robustly standing up for the interests of local residents at this oral hearing. The vast majority of the public are opposed to these monstrosities.

“With the, in my view, deliberate absence of guidelines on the matter from the Government, an attempt is being made to usher this project through the planning process. In my view this is wrong and improper and I will have no hesitation in saying so.

“It is up to An Bord Pleanala to do he heir job to stand up for proper planning and development. That’s what I will be demanding and I firmly believe that this means rejecting this project” concluded Senator Byrne.
