Action needed on Dublin streets to protect public safety – Ardagh

Written by Alan Dennedy | 30 September 2021

Fianna Fáil Senator Catherine Ardagh is calling for a well-funded policing plan to protect public safety on Dublin streets given the recent increase in attacks.

Senator Ardagh commented, “All to regularly we are seeing reports of attacks on the streets of Dublin with shocking videos being circulated on social media. They depict Xenophobic attacks happening on the streets of Dublin terrifying everyone and attacking individuals.

“It has been a worrying trend since the lockdowns began. A targeted policing plan is needed to stamp this out – the street should be safe for everyone.” “The government should allocate extra resources in the upcoming budget to ensure safer streets and public transport.”
