€582,395 for the upgrade and development of community centres across Louth - McGreehan

Fianna Fáil Senator in Louth, Erin McGreehan, has welcomed funding of €582,395 for the upgrade and development of community centres across Louth.
 
The announcement under the new Community Centre Investment Fund represents the largest ever capital investment in upgrading Community Centres and will see grants of between €25,000 to €300,000 provided to successful projects.
 
The funding will be used to upgrade, renovate and refurbish Community Centres, Parish Halls, Scouts Clubs, Youth Hubs, Family Resources Centres and Sports Complexes across the country.
 
Senator McGreehan said, “The local community centre is at the heart of our towns, villages and parishes.
 
"I’m delighted to see this ground-breaking investment in our local community centres.
 
"Some of the successful applicants announced today include, Outcomers who will receive €265,381.91, Cooley Parish has been allocated €25,000 and Mullaghbuoy Community Centre & Glenmore Athletic Club who have also been awarded €25,000 under this fund.''
 
Senator McGreehan concluded by saying, "The Government’s funding of vital initiatives, such as this, demonstrates Fianna Fáil's ongoing commitment to community development."
