Local Fianna Fáil Senator Thomas Byrne is very happy about revelations to him out of the Committee on Energy, Natural Resources and Agriculture that the building of a proposed electric substation near at Moy Hill, near Tierworker Co. Meath has been postponed by Eirgrid.

Senator Byrne said “I am very happy that this intrusive project has been shelved as it would have marred the natural beauty of such a beautiful and tranquil part of our county, I had already strenuously objected to the building of the substation when it was still at the previous planning stage.

“I of course remain opposed to the totality of the Meath Cavan overhead power line project”.  Senator Byrne will continue to monitor the situation with a view to opposing the project should it come up in future.
