Fianna Fáil spokesperson on Education & Skills Charlie McConalogue has congratulated the 60,000 students who are receiving their Junior Cert results today.
Deputy McConalogue commented, “Today is an important day for the thousands of students who sat their first State exams back in June and marks the culmination of three years hard work. I also want to pay tribute to the teachers and parents who played an important role in supporting these students and helping them fulfil their potential.
“I am pleased to see the continued increase in the number of students taking higher level maths, with 54% of all candidates opting for the higher level papers. These are very encouraging figures which bode well for the future.
“I wish to extend my sincere congratulations to all students receiving their results today. They should be proud of their achievement, which marks the end of the first phase of their second level education and signals the beginning of the next chapter of their journey”.
