James Lawless, Fianna Fáil’s Naas Area Representative, has welcomed the announcement today of a new €100 million technology and innovation centre for Naas to be developed by Kerry Group.
“The plan is to develop a huge technology centre at the Millennium park” said James “and will provide up to 1,300 jobs in the locality. There is a great skill base on offer in the area with a large number of specialist skilled workers currently based locally. Some of these will be currently commuting to work in Dublin and will now welcome the chance to relocate closer to home on top, of course, of all the brand new jobs created.
“There will be a demand for workers at the construction stages and also when the centre is fully operational. This means local jobs in building, trades, engineering and all the ongoing work then at the centre in areas like IT, innovation and technology development. The job creation will generate significant new economic activity for the whole area also with all the supporting services required to fuel such a workforce and commerce hub which is great news for all local business. The investment is a huge boost to Naas town and the whole area” continued James.
“The investment marks a huge vote of confidence in Naas as a location to work, to live and to do business. With its proximity to the capital, local high skilled labour, rapid access to Dublin airport via the motorway network and not forgetting the 30 minute train service into Dublin city, it is a great location for any business to setup camp as is amply demonstrated by this decision of Kerry Group today” concluded James.
