Louth Fianna Fáil Deputy Seamus Kirk has condemned the brutal murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe in Co Louth last night.
“The entire community is in shock after this appalling attack. Detective Donohue was a highly respected member of our community and was very much involved in local life. His senseless death has left all of us mourning,” Deputy Kirk said.
“Detective Donohoe was killed while working to keep our streets safe and bring criminals to justice. This was not just an attack on one individual; it was an attack on civilised society. The gardaí must be given every available support to catch the thugs responsible. We need to send out the message loud and clear that we will simply not tolerate this brutal brand of criminality.
“My deepest sympathies go to Adrian Donohoe’s wife, children and all of his family and friends. My thoughts are also with his colleagues and all members An Garda Síochána at this terribly difficult time. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.”
