Fianna Fáil Senator Thomas Byrne has today welcomed the announcement by the Department of Transport that an allocation of €360,000 has been made to Meath County Council in respect of improvements to the R147 in Kells Town Centre and Maeve’s Bridge.
‘I am delighted to see the Department sanction €250,000 for improvements to the R147 in Kells Town and €110,000 for works on Maeve’s Bridge’ said Senator Byrne. 
‘Residents in Kells Town and in the Oakley Park area have been waiting for a long time for this funding and I hope that works are carried out as quickly as possible by the County Council officials’ added Senator Byrne.
The Kells Fianna Fáil Team of Cllrs. Bryan Reilly, Sean Drew and Frankie Lynch have been working on this issue for some time and have welcomed this funding’ concluded Senator Byrne.
