Fianna Fáil TD for Kildare South Fiona O’Loughlin has joined over 1,400 parliamentarians from around the world in committing to uphold the ideals of inclusion and tolerance put forward by the late Jo Cox MP.
Deputy O’Loughlin said, “Jo Cox’s killing was a violent attack against democracy which has to be utterly condemned. It’s tragic to think that such an intelligent, hardworking and promising member of parliament was murdered while doing her best to represent her constituents. My thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends and colleagues.
“Today I’ve joined over 1,400 parliamentarians from across the world, including 43 from Ireland, in committing to uphold the ideals held by Jo. During her life she worked passionately to represent the most marginalized in society, and spent countless hours assisting refugees in worn torn countries. It’s important that we remember her legacy and uphold her ideals.”
