Huge commitment from Cork North West FF delegates

Fianna Fáil Cork North West TD, Michael Moynihan, has expressed his gratitude to members who travelled from all over the constituency to attend last weekend’s Ard Fheis.

Cork North West was represented by dozens of members and according to Deputy Moynihan, some made huge sacrifices to be present at the RDS last weekend.

“We had very good numbers from the constituency attend both days of the Ard Fheis. There were a huge number of workshops and discussion groups where a number of very lively debates took place. The way the party is structured and organised has been radically changed and without the input of huge numbers from all over Ireland, including Cork, the reorganisation of the party, could not have happened. I would like to personally thank all the people from Cork North West who travelled to Dublin for the weekend.

“One of the most important changes was the move to a one-member-one-vote system, which means that every single member of Fianna Fáil will now have an input into how Fianna Fáil conducts itself,” said Deputy Moynihan.

Fianna Fáil delegate from Cork North West, Tom McCarthy, said members made huge sacrifices to attend.

“All the members and delegates from Cork North West were very anxious to be in attendance for the opening. Many of us left Cork as early as 2pm, some had to leave work early while some farmers had to milk the cows three hours early in order to be in Dublin on time!

“It was well worth the time and members from all over the country have a renewed optimism about the regeneration of Fianna Fáil,” he said.
