Vallely selected to run in Carrigaline-Ballincollig

Padraic Vallely has been selected by Fianna Fail members to represent their party in the local election for Cork County Council next May.

If you live in Ballincollig, Ballinhassig, Carrigaline (City), Donnybrook, Douglas, Frankfield, Grange, Monkstown, Passage West, Ringaskiddy, Rochestown, Togher Rural, Waterfall and Wilton your vote will be for the Carrigaline – Ballincollig electoral area in Cork South Central and you will see a new name at the end of your ballot paper.

Vallely speaks openly on his view of the changes in local politics over the last while, “People in our community are looking for more from the those who represent, them and their area. Having met a lot of people on the doorsteps over the past few months, it is so obvious that people want honesty, transparency and hard working representatives in their community.”

Pádraic has already said that he “believes one of the roles of our local Councillor is to assist neighborhoods and communities with problems and concerns, to reach long term, sustainable improvements and solutions. Where we have lost our sense of community, we must try to rebuild it, to make our neighbourhood a safe and enjoyable place, to grow up, and grow old.”

“I want to be a voice of reason when representing the people in the Carrigaline – Ballincollig electoral area. Having youth on my side and over a decade of experience in local and national politics with a practical understanding of the workload and commitment required, I see it as a perfect combination and time to represent people at local level.”

Vallely is known for his involvement with and support of local community groups and charities in Cork such as Douglas Tidy Towns, Carrigaline Lions Club, Cork Charity Foundation, Dogs for the Disabled as well as Cork Penny Dinners and others. “Local community groups and organisations are the lifeblood of our community and are key to bringing people together, creating friendships and support systems all the while giving volunteers who give up their time, a sense of achievement, as we help others and give back to our own community or beyond.”

Vallely urges, “Everyone should use their vote next May. It is so important to have your say on what really matters to you. Make your opinion count, vote next May”.
