Troy welcomes Ennell Court investment

Fianna Fáil TD for Longford Westmeath, Robert Troy, has welcomed the announcement that investment has been granted for work at Ennell Court in Mullingar.

Deputy Troy commented: “I would like to welcome the announcement that investment has been granted for Ennell Court under the Social Housing Investment Programme. A total of €840,000 has been granted for the construction of six family units and the refurbishment of four cottages.

“The residents of Ennell Court have fought long and hard for this investment and showed true patience and spirit in persisting with their cause. The money should be drawn down by Westmeath County Council by the end of November and I would urge them to immediately implement the plans they have in place for the work.

“Once work in Ennell Court commences, the regeneration programme for the area can begin in earnest. I would also like to welcome the acquisition of five properties under the Capital Assistance Scheme in Rathgowan and Beech Drive in Mullingar, which Westmeath County Council will also administer.

“The announcement of these work programmes is the culmination of years of hard work by many parties and they can be rightly proud of the result.”
