Barry Conway has been selected by members of Blackrock Fianna Fáil to contest next year’s Local Elections in the Blackrock Ward of Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council. Conway, a solicitor by profession, previously served as a County Councillor for the area from 2003 to 2009.

The six-seat Blackrock Local Electoral Area stretches from Booterstown in the north, through Blackrock Village to Deansgrange in the south.

Speaking following his selection, Mr. Conway – who has lived in the area all his life – remarked that it was “a great to honour to be selected by the members of the party as their candidate.”

“It was a privilege to have served the people of Blackrock on the County Council from 2003 to 2009. Having been selected once again as a candidate for the area, I will be campaigning to protect residential amenity, make local government more responsive to the needs of local communities and to ensure the County Council delivers value for money in this era of limited public resources.“
