Fianna Fáil First Time General Election Candidate Cllr Pat Casey met with the three Arklow Cllrs, Pat Fitzgerald, Tommy Annesley and Pat Kennedy along with Community activist and party member Pauric Hyland on Tuesday afternoon (19th January) to discuss the challenges that the people of Arklow face in the upcoming election and beyond.
At the meeting the three Councillors and Pauric Hyland pledged their full support for the Fianna Fáil Dáil team led by Cllr Pat Casey in addressing the unique problems that Arklow faces after five years of neglect by Fine Gael and Labour in Government.
Cllr Casey remarked “Arklow has been let down by Fine Gael & Labour in Government. Since 2011 Fianna Fail has learned hard lessons and rebuilt a strong team to deliver for Arklow. In 2014 the people of Arklow elected three excellent Cllr’s in Pat Fitzgerald, Tommy Annesley and Pat Kennedy that are working hard to improve the lives of local residents. Working with them are quality community activists such as Pauric Hyland who are determined to get a fair deal for Arklow.”
Cllr Casey continued “As a first time candidate for the Dail, a businessman and employer I want to work with this talented team to focus on our priority areas. Our number one priority is sustainable jobs for Arklow and we are demanding an IDA-led inward investment task force for the town. Hand in hand with that and as a Wicklow businessman I will be seeking targeted supports for Arklow’s existing and emerging small and medium business’s to help them grow employment.”
“Fine Gael and Labour have a lot to answer for in Arklow with the farce of Irish water, cutting Garda resources, and drowning community and voluntary groups with cuts and red tape. The people of Arklow have been treated very badly by Fine Gael and Labour and this election is their chance to get a fair share of the recovery”
“No other candidate in this election possesses my business experience in delivering sustainable jobs in Wicklow and I have entered national politics to deliver results for Arklow not broken promises. The team we have in Arklow are doers not talkers, it will take teamwork to get a fair deal.
Fianna Fáil has the strongest team working for the people of Arklow and I am honoured
