Fianna Fáil by-election candidate for Dublin Bay South, Deirdre Conroy, has condemned recent scenes of anti-social behaviour in Dublin city centre.
The Dublin Bay South by-election candidate commented, “I have been truly shocked and appalled by a series of incidents in Dublin in recent days and weeks.
”While the vast majority of those socialising in our city are doing so responsibly, the anti-social activities of a tiny minority are entirely unacceptable.
”We have been advised that this will be an outdoor summer, and every citizen should feel safe in their own city and feel comfortable socialising on the streets of our city.
”I understand that several businesses have been left with no choice but to close their doors early, citing concerns around both staff and customer safety.
”The appalling behaviour we have witnessed over the last number of weekends is absolutely deplorable and is not a reflection on the vast majority of people who have been socialising safely and responsibly in recent weeks.”
