Fianna Fáil is rolling out the next step in its campaign to support women interested in running for election for the party. The election bootcamp, scheduled for March 7th in Dublin’s Dean Hotel, is one element of the party’s roll-out of activities arising from the Markievicz Commission Report, the programme aimed at increasing female participation in Fianna Fáil politics.
The bootcamp will see a number of guest speakers lead workshops on a range of the skills required to win political campaigns.
Fianna Fáil Leader Micheál Martin TD commented, “Following the publication of the Markievicz Commission Report Fianna Fáil made a firm commitment to target and encourage women to become involved in the party at all levels. The commission was chaired by Professor Yvonne Galligan and recommended that a candidate workshop should take place to identify, encourage and support women to contest the forthcoming general election.
“The workshop marks the important next step of our campaign to support women who are interested in becoming involved in politics. Fianna Fáil is determined to lead the way in facilitating a new generation of women to become politically active” concluded Deputy Martin.
Please Note: All bookings for the event must be made by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org before Monday 2nd March 2015. Booking is essential. A detailed programme will be made available closer to the event.
