Fianna Fáil has today added Caitriona McClean to the General Election ticket in Dublin Mid-West.
The decision was madefollowing a meeting of the Party’s National Constituencies Committee.
Commenting on her addition, Ms McClean said, “I am delighted to have been added to the ticket to contest the next General Election in Dublin Mid-West. I am looking forward to working with my colleague Deputy John Curran and the Fianna Fáil organisation to maximise the Party’s vote in the forthcoming General Election.
“I have been a supporter Fianna Fáil all my life. I have been a proud member of the Party for almost 15 years and I believe we are now at a point in time where the country needs great political change. I believe Fianna Fáil is the Party to deliver the leadership that is essential to supply that change.
“I have lived in Lucan for almost 30 years. I am very proud of who we are in the wider constituency and all the work that takes place in the different communities.
“I am an active volunteer with St Mary’s parish alongside hundreds of other active volunteers in the community.
“One of the key areas, I hope to campaign for include better housing and empowering the local authorities to build more social housing. We need improvements in education locally and better transport in the locality,” she concluded.
