Fianna Fáil Leader Micheál Martin TD has announced the appointment of Sarah Ryan as a Local Area Representative in the Dundrum Local Electoral Area where she will working alongside the Party’s existing representative Cllr. Aoife Brennan.

Deputy Martin said: “I am delighted to announce that Sarah Ryan will be joining the Fianna Fáil team in Dundrum.  Sarah has a solid record of achievement in the Party and I am delighted that she is now taking this ability forward into the Dundrum LEA where she will be a key component, along with Cllr. Aoife Brennan, in the revival of our Party.”

Deputy Martin added: “It is essential that Fianna Fáil continues to play a constructive and positive role in politics, bringing forward policies and solutions to the problems being faced by people in their daily lives. By ensuring there is a strong team on the ground in all communities Fianna Fáil can deliver on this pledge. It is in that context that we are appointing Sarah Ryan as a Local Area Representative with the skills and talent required to deliver.”

Sarah is a 29 year old management consultant currently working in the Sandyford area. She has extensive political and business experience having worked nationally and internationally in recent years. She is a graduate of University College Dublin and the Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.

“This appointment is immensely important to me” said Ryan “I am looking forward to listening, organising and campaigning on behalf of the people of Dundrum, Churchtown, Balinteer and Windy Arbour to name but a few of our local communities. Each area is unique, with issues and challenges that require solution based responses. I will work tirelessly to deliver these responses in co-operation with my Party colleague Cllr. Aoife Brennan. It is in this way that Fianna Fáil and the people who choose to represent Fianna Fáil will live out their desire for a new political accommodation which places people and their needs once again, at the centre of Irish politics.”

Cllr. Aoife Brennan said that “there is a genuine commitment from grassroot members of Fianna Fáil to make sure the party is rebuilt and that the voices of people in our communities are listened to as we go about that process. I welcome Sarah’s appointment and I think she will be an important asset to the Party in the Dundrum LEA where she will be working with me to deliver for constituents.”
