Dublin South West voters lent Brian Hayes their vote in 2011 – he abandoned them at the first opportunity and they got Paul Murphy – Lahart
Fianna Fáil candidate for Dublin South West, John Lahart says he is finding it hard to take seriously the recent request by Brian Hayes for the public to ‘lend’ him their vote. Hayes recently asked voters to consider ‘lending’ their vote to Fine Gael again in the upcoming General Election.
“The last time voters in this constituency lent their vote to Fine Gael, Brian Hayes abandoned them at the first available opportunity for Brussels and they got Paul Murphy. Voters have told me they found that hard to take and they haven’t forgotten it. He’s clearly out of touch with voter sentiment. I’ve been campaigning since I was selected in June and there’s a turn back to Fianna Fáil – it’s consistent and across the constituency.
“Many people are telling me on the doorsteps that they are prepared to vote for Fianna Fáil again. People lent their votes last time and aren’t that happy with what they got in return”.
