Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Transport, Tourism and Sport, Timmy Dooley TD, has welcomed the announcement by Ryanair that it will launch 9 new services from Dublin Airport starting next year with the creation of 300 new jobs.

Deputy Dooley commented: “This is a significant announcement by Ryanair and I welcome the fact that as many as 700,000 more passengers will pass through Dublin Airport per annum from next year.

“This follows on from a similar announcement by the company for 8 new routes out of Shannon airport.

“Dublin Airport has massive potential to be an economic driver for the country and all the necessary supports that can be offered by Government should be put in place.

“I look forward to Ryanair continuing its promise to expand its presence at Irish airports. For an island nation, tourism is extremely important to the economy and the prospect of 700,000 new visitors coming to the country next year is something to look forward to.”
